Business Law help please...?

Baxter Fence Company agrees to erect a six foot chain link fence around the
perimeter of Buddy’s residential property in Menomonie in exchange for $5,000.
The next day, Buddy discovers that he is prohibited by city ordinance from
erecting such a fence in the part of Menomonie where his home is located. Is
Buddy in breach of contract with Baxter Fence Company?
Can anyone tell me the correct response to this? I'm a bit confused

Business Law help please...?

No, It is not a breach of a contract B/C federal law states that a contract involving something that isn't legal (like not being allowed to build a fence B/c it doesn't meet zoning laws or whatever) is an Illegal contract.

So for example if I sold you drugs and you said you would pay me back in 30 days and I said okay... then we sign a contract and in 30 days you don't pay me. I cannot take it to court because all contracts that are against the law are Void.

P.s. If he already built the fence then you have to of course pay him and pay him to take it down.

Hope it helped
