A Roman Catholic can marry into the British Royal family if he or she becomes a member of the Church of England. For example, Canadian Autumn Kelly, who married Elizabeth II's grandson, Peter Phillips, was originally a Roman Catholic.
The prohibition against marrying Roman Catholics, however, has not changed since Parliament enacted the Act of Settlement in 1701. The purpose of this act, of course, was to keep the Roman Catholic Stuarts from regaining the throne.
