Can I Customize Firefox So That When I Change The Search Engine In The Search Bar, It Will Automatically Do A Search?

Postby Urbano » Wed Mar 09, 2016 2:16 pm

The scenario is I do a search via the search bar(the one on the upper right). I'm not happy with the result so I'd like to switch to another search engine, amazon, wikipedia, you name it. How can I configure(or maybe get a add-on) so that when I switch the search engine(and there is text on the bar), firefox will automatically search with the new engine?

I use the Groowe Search Toolbar extension It's adds a new toolbar to the top of your Firefox browers(abot the tbas bar) and allows you to choose from a bunch of pre-installed search engines, as well as to add your own.https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/534/Groowe Search Toolbarby Milos MileusnicGroowe Search Toolbar bundles toolbar functions for many search engines, shopping sites, download sites, including Google toolbar, Yahoo, Amazon, Msn, Ask, Download.com, Wikipedia, Digg, del.icio.us and others. The entire toolbar reconfigures when you select a different site and it includes many advanced features found in each engine or site. You can also easily repeat your search on all sites included in toolbar.Groowe plugins can be downloaded for many other sites like YouTUBE, IMDb, Technorati, Exalead, Clusty, Torrent sites, dictionaries, etc. Groowe plugins are small XML files that define new Groowe toolbar so anyone can make Groowe addition.Works with: Firefox 1.0 - 2.0.0.* ALLInstall now(101 KB) :http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/extensions/groowe_search_toolbar/groowe_search_toolbar-1.5.2-fx.xpiVersion 1.5.2, released on Oct 31, 2006.Version Notes- Fixed bug with regional settings;- Fixed bug with button reorder;- Digg and del.icio.us added to toolbar;- Some outdated search engines excluded, but still available as optional plugins;- Show/Hide Groowebar with Ctrl+F12 shortcut;- Fixed bug on plugin downloads on Linux;- Groowe plugins files now supports UTF-8 characters;Developer CommentsGroowe Toolbar was THE FINALIST of Mozilla Extend Firefox Contesthttps://addons.mozilla.org/finalists.php Sources: my opinion ThisSpaceForRent 112 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment.
