It depends on the details of the error. Can the discrepancy be explained by bad handwriting? If is can, you probably won't get out of the ticket. Did they forget it is 2012 instead of 2011 when issuing the ticket? The judge will probably allow them to correct the charge in court. If they claim you were speeding at noon on June 5, when you were stopped at 4:30 on February 27, you stand a good chance.I figure if you can provide some indisputable proof you were somewhere else on the date and time listed on the ticket, you could beat it hands down. If you go in and say Judge the time and date are wrong, he will go, well were you speeding and you will answer honestly yes and the judge will go "guilty" just because the police officer made a clerical error does not mean you didn't do it.
