Can I still become a registered nurse?

Postby fiacre68 » Sat Jun 23, 2012 4:03 pm

A week ago I got pulled over for speeding and when I pulled over I sort of lost a little control of the wheel and curved out of the lane a little bit it wasnt a big deal to me but the cop gave me another ticket for reckless driving in the state of Virginia which is considered a misdemeanor here. I live in Atlanta and want to be a RN in the future will this keep me from getting the job? I'm only 18 this was my first ticket.

LOL, this isn't going to matter. A misdemeanor traffic violation is not the kind of thing that would prevent you from becoming a nurse. The kind of thing that would disqualify you would be a felony charge, drug charges, charges related to violence / abuse / neglect (especially of vulnerable populations like children or the elderly), sex crimes, etc.

My high school buddy got arrested for drug possession and has been suspended from school several times. He also attended a community college instead of a regular college. I think your pretty safe choosing a safe career.
