Alright my used to be friend going around telling people how I am slut and Have std's because she mad because she been caught by me for some stuff that i haven't told anybody! She even posted On her Status that saying that I'm a slut and she used my full name including middle name with my url! I just recently got evidence that she the one who wrote the anonymous letter's saying how I'm *****, slut, never do anything right, how i have std's, lazy, and that i use drugs but she gave those letters to the entire school which has only 100 something kids! it wasn't on school ground when she did that! Her and Her parents are harassing me saying that I'm harassing her but her family and her the one who constantly emailing me and threatening to send me to court for harassment and I haven't said anything to her or her family this entire time the problem started! So am I on grounds for suing them for slander and Harassment?

Yes you could and you could also counter sue them for not suing you for a good enough of reason and wasting your time.

Probably not - it sounds more like a cat fight than actual slander. To sue for slander, you need more of an argument than what you have. What "damages" has she caused you? What is the monitory value she has caused you to lose? You need numbers - not just emotion - to sue for slander.

For example - if those letters and/or status updates have caused you to miss out on a job or college opportunity (and you can PROVE it with FACTS), then you have a case. And if you sue for harassment, then what? You pay court fees only for her to do a few hours of community service or something?

You should file a restraining order, and if she breaks that, THEN you may have a case.
