Can I use "1-Click" ordering on my e-commerce site?

I run a e-commerce site selling electronics exclusively to British consumers. I'd like to introduce "1-Click" ordering for the convenience of my customers and to increase sales.

Amazon is famous for "1-Click" technology and holds a United States patent, granted in 1999. According to Wikipedia (not the best site for accuracy): "A patent application on the 1-Click ordering was filed with the European Patent Office, but never granted."

Am I allowed to use "1-Click" ordering on my e-commerce site?

Be careful with that. Amazon has other technologies for security and privacy in place that allow them to stay PCI compliant. You should check with your compliance and regs there before VISA and MC fine or shut you down. Which I figure would be pretty crippling for an e-commerce company.
