Can my neighbor record me without permission?

Ok, my neighbor is a total jerk, she did all kinds of really vile things and caused issues between us. I was outside walking around my yard when she begins provoking me calling names saying really twisted vile things about my family, post ugly lies on my facebook, recorded the entire thing, including her nastiness. Her entire purpose, and she admits it, was to provoke me into doing something stupid, I did get mad but broke no laws, can she legally do this, I live in California, I've researched it a bit but didn't really find an answer. Can someone provoke you with the purpose of making you mad and then record it and share it with her stupid friends. I take pride in my self control and this moment took alot out of me, she said some really nasty things and made threats about to my family's safety. I'm not worried about my behavior on the tape, I did nothing wrong legally, tho I am disappointed in myself for losing my cool and giving he what she wanted, I just want to know if this is okay. I understand if this is not illegal, just bad taste, but it irked me so bad that I have to ask, I was walking in my yard minding my own business when she started in on me, also what if she edited the tape (I don't know if she did or not) to seem different than it was?

Block her on Facebook and ignore her. You will find that the type of idiot that would try to start a fight on Facebook is lower than the average person would accept.

Can somebody call you names? Yes. Can they record you if you respond? Yes, it it is not in a place where you can expect privacy.

People can be jerks, the courts can't control that.
