When submitting a name specimens can we use a word inside of a sentence in a book as the specimen for the trademark?

For example if we have a children book and inside that book we have a sentence that's reads "I am Matt the Cat!" can we use a copy of the page found in a book as a specimen to register the trademark "Matt the Cat."

PLEASE PLEASE SITE SOME LEGAL AUTHORITY

Speak to a lawyer on this as it is quite a specific topic, most don't charge you for the initial phone call so come up with all the questions you need answers to and give a legal representative a call or email them and I'm sure they will help you out - the good ones always do.

I kinda doubt it, but this question is technical enough that Y!A isn't going to cut it.

You're going to have to shell out the cash for a real lawyer.
