Can you get caught using a cracked version of solidworks?

I am using student version of solid works to design a product that will be used to manufacture the product. Is using a student version of solidworks in order to obtain a patent for a product, then using the drawings to manufacture the product illegal? I want to find out first. My friend said it was not legal because using a student version for commercial use is illegal, and that i might aswell use a cracked premium version. I did not download any cracked version of solidworks, but I would like to know is this true? Can I get in trouble for using a cracked version of solidworks to manufacture a product? How do you convert a part that was drawn in a cracked version of solidworks into a legit version? Is it enough to just save the part in a student version and then it suddenly becomes legit? Would it be a problem to use a student version or cracked version of solidworks to draw a part and then get it manufactured for an employer? I don't want to do anything wrong. Please give me some advice I didn't do anything, I am thinking things through.

No, idea on how things run with solidworks. But I know it's good to go when using autocad. I used the student version when I was at work.

You can use equivalent free CAD programs and not worry about being illegal. Go the the site I give as source and choose the FREE program that suits you better, download and use.

The student version of SolidWorks attaches a watermark to documents indicating that they were created in the student version, and are not intended for commercial use. Manufacturers who receive those files know that they should not be using them.

Using cracked software is always illegal. If you are using SolidWorks to design something for commercial use, you should contact a SolidWorks reseller to purchase a commercial license.

I must say SolidWorks is a SUPER program but it is very expensive compared to the freebies but it is TOTALLY the "Standard"...

What I HATE about SolidWorks is that when I send a file to folks and they have an OLDER version they can not open it! This is not true with the AutoDesk product.

One day SolidWorks may start allowing this stuff to work!
