As for what you should do at the office, you should take that intern to lunch. Otherwise he might sue you.

If you are the person that files lawsuits against your coworkers, you will probably not hold that job for long. Before you consider taking legal action, report the incident(s) to your HR department and give them a chance to discipline the intern.

You can sue anybody for slander. Whether or not an internship student has any money that you'll be able to collect, and whether or not you have a case, is an entirely different matter.
