Citizenship After Long Gc

Postby Enrikos » Thu Aug 28, 2014 3:36 pm

I was married and got an unconditional GC in 1983.  I have since divorced and remarried for 26yrs an american.  We have children and now grandson.  I want to file for citizenship.  How do I go about doing so and since I received the GC from my earlier marriage, what effect would it have in the citizenship process?

Dear Jecinho:

You are eligible to apply for Naturalization on your own, since you have had the GC since over 5 years; you divorce and remarriage is of non issue now. Best wishes, Note: Our main are of practice is U.S. Immigration Law with focus on Removal, Deportation, Asylum, Employment Visas, Non-immigrant Visas(H1B/L1/J1), Immigration Bond matters, Criminal Immigration and other complex Immigration matters and related Federal Court litigation.  This communication, though, does not constitute “legal advice”, nor does it form an attorney-client relationship.
