Class action lawsuit against sony about the video game hack?

Some videogamer is currently suing SONY for breaching their contract and violating their trust with their consumers. Millions had their personal information stolen and their credit card numbers. OUCH Sony.

1 ) i wonder, does anyone know how much money the gamer is suing for? Does it say that anywhere?

2) Lets say the gamer wins, does it mean he's the ONLY person who gets the reward money as if he's the only person in the world that had that hack problem or would that be divided between the 70+ million users who had the same problem so everyone can end up getting $0.50 check in mail lol?

Class action lawsuit against sony about the video game hack?

In a class action suit, there first has to be only a few to file the suit. Then it is reviewed by a judge who will determine if it has sufficient merit to warrant a class action suit. If it is determined that there will be enough people who might have been damaged to warrant a class action suit, then the rest of the people who were affected can jump on board. Only those mentioned in the suit can gain any award of damages. It isn't just automatically filed and sent to you. You have to file the claim to be a part of the suit and a part of the damage award, if any.

Note that they must PROVE negligence by Sony. Sony did not orchestrate the theft. Sony was a victim here too. To win, it must be proven that Sony deliberately neglected to protect their customers. If Sony took steps to protect their customers, and the information was stolen anyway, it wasn't their fault.
