((keep in mind I am asking this for my mother's state not mine))

back in september we, my mother, brother, his wife and I, moved into our new apartment with the intention that rent would be coming from my mother and my brother and his wife. we split the bill. they would pay the gas and we would pay everything else. my brother's wife's name is the one on the lease because my mother couldn't get the place on her own because she filed bankruptcy last year. well no they have quit there jobs and aren't paying any rent or the gas bill. we just found out that they have actually never paid the gas bill and the gas is getting shut off.

do we have a right to get money from them, and I mean a legal right. we can't kick them out because my sister in law's name is on the lease but we can't afford to pay for this place by ourselves anymore.
