Do I still have a chance to join the military?

I was recently supposed to go to boot camp this month(august 2011) and I had been in dep since september 2010 last year......

I caught a charge "concealed-carry handgun whlie off own defendants premises"(misdemeanor)(December 2010)......the gun was registered and I was honest with the officer and truth be told he would have not known I had a gun in the car if I would have not told him.....oh and he pulled me for a dim light on my license plate......anyways I caught the charge in december 2010 and I served NO JAIL TIME AND PAID NO FINES but I did do 30 hours community service and take a concealed-carry handgun course and therefore my charge was dismissed May 2011.......my recruiter told me that everything was good since I got it dismissed up until the day I was supposed to ship I was hit with very disappointing news.....I was told that I cannot go to boot camp and I would have to wait 3 months to reapply and my recruiter said that it shouldnt be any problems after that.........but honestly with all thats happened im not even sure if he is telling me the truth because Ive heard from other ppl(recruiters) that my chances of joining are still slim.........

I have talked to an army recruiter and he seems to be very interested in my dilemma and he still wants me to bring my birth certificate/DLs/Diploma etc. but he still has to look into my "charge"/background check which I already told him about.......

all thats on my record is two traffic violations(expired tags) and concealed-carry handgun that is under review of expungement as we speak(my attorney told me this).......so im hoping I can get in the military soon as possible or at all

If you were in DEP, why didn't you ship out? When you were arrested, did you contact your recruiter? There are many holes in your story.

The answer would be no. You will not be able to join. You will require a waiver that will not be approved.

You should be fine it its just a misdemeanor.
