Does Pennsylvania law require landlords to provide smoke detectors in rental properties?

If it does require them and you don't have one that won't necessarily get you out of the lease.

You would have to send written notice to the landlord and give him the opportunity to remedy the lack of a smoke detector. THEN if he doesn't you would have cause to terminate your lease
