Does the coast guard maritime enforcement rating go on search and rescue missions?

I know they do maritime law enforcement, but i think i saw somewhere online (i forget where) it said they help with search and rescue missions.

Kevin,
The primary mission of ME is law enforcement, but EVERYONE deals with SAR as needed. Since there are lots of ME's at SAR stations, they will be doing a fair share of SAR along with the BM's and MK's (and non-rates).

Are you talking about aviation search and rescue? The answer to that is no. The helicopter has a pilot in command, a copilot, an aviation survival tech and a crew chief. If you're talking about in general, yes, the entire USCG does various type of SAR, and everyone is involved in one way or another, lookouts, watch-standers, coxswains (drivers) EMTs on board,etc.
