I've read the book, I've looked online, and I've managed to answer most of the questions. I have trouble with a few though, so I will post my answers to those questions for validation.
1. Alcohol:
a) is classified as a poison
b) is classified as a nerve depressant
c) is classified as flammable
d) all of the above.
MY ANSWER: D. The reason why I'm confused about this question is because in the guide, it didn't mention anything about alcohol being flammable or poison. But, common sense tells me that alcohol is all of the above. So, despite the fact that the guide only mentioned something about alcohol being a depressant and nothing about being flammable or a poison, I chose D.
2. Teenagers can have a BAC of what, before being arrested for DUI:
a) .01%
b) .03%
c) .05%
d) No BAC is allowed for teens
MY ANSWER: D. The reason why I'm confused about this question is because the guide specifically said "If you are under age 21, it is unlawful for you to drive with a BAC of 0.05% or higher. The court may convict you of DUI in addition to the penalties imposed under the non-criminal "zero tolerance" law that makes it illegal for a person under 21 to drive with a BAC of 0.01%." BUT, common sense tells me that teenagers aren't allowed to drink legally, so wouldn't any alcohol content be unlawful? So, that's why I picked D.
3. One of the problems associated with driving under the influence of marijuana is:
a) distorts your perception of time
b) distorts your perception of colors
c) agitates your concentration
d) all of the above
MY ANSWER: D. The guide only mentioned something about marijuana distorting your perception of time and affecting concentration. It also mentioned something about light and darkness. But, I'm not sure if marijuana can distort your perception of color. So I guessed D.
4. Refusing a blood or urine test for drugs, when requested by a police officer:
a) will result in an automatic suspension of your license
b) is permissible since it is an invasion of privacy
c) is permissible only if you have your own doctor do the test within two hours
d) none of the above
MY ANSWER: A. A made the most sense to me, because refusing a blood or urine test for drugs or alcohol isn't allowed and will result in your license being suspended at some point. Now, the reason why I'm confused is because the guide doesn't specify of whether it is automatically suspended or not. But, I trusted my gut and picked A.
So, I hope someone out there can help me with this. Because the driver's ed tests are really confusing because of the way they're worded.
