Attraction is such a tricky thing to consider cause everyone has their own little quirks. When it comes to tattoo's i think people always know there is a story or a fixation that tattooed person has. There is a reason why someone wanted a permanent attachment on their body for the world to know and see depending on what body part they added it on. Or some people just want to look cool and over do it by adding a tat for the approval of their peers most times you can tell the difference between that.
However, most people agree the only time they feel attracted to someone with a tattoo is whom that person is. Laws of attraction usually go by "Hey that person looks happy, i like being happy, i want to be happy, i could be happy with that person, i could obtain happiness form this person." or "People really like that person, he/she gets a lot of support and admiration, i want that, I want to have something everyone else wants." or "I want something that i've been told no, don't, it dangerous and get away with it" or "That person's sexy, its on." and so on and so forth.
When it comes down to it though, being attracting has actually nothing to do with the person everyone thinks is attractive but how the people build this person up to be.
Tattoo's could just be another support for the "attractive person." to build up that charisma people feed off on, which does play in with the Stereo type in which you were talking about however, to be flat out here, if your unhealthy (your over weight or sickly or people avoid you any interaction with you.) your just a wried guy with a tat.
**By sickly i mean very pale/translucent skin, yellow or few teeth, skin conditions (rashes, acne, scabs.) thinning hair- hair falling out (going bald), ageing etc etc
**When people avoid you, it gives off a signal that their is something wrong with you and you become more critiqued in your actions
