Help me! I think I ruined my life?

About 3 years ago, me and 2 other guys got drunk and decided to uproot a parking meter. We were given criminal charges but were released on recognizance. The problem is, when you type my name in Google search, the first thing that comes up is an article about the crime. This is not good for my career prospects since I'm a junior at Princeton looking for a place on Wall Street. I have bucket loads of student debt to pay, so I'm screwed if I don't land a job as soon as I finish grad school.

It's so unfair. One of the guys I was with (the pompous-*** prick who instigated the whole thing) has a dad who owns a huge law firm. He doesn't have any debt because his dad paid the whole package, AND he's guaranteed a lucrative career though he doesn't actually need to work for a living. I want to strangle him so badly.

Help me! Can I possibly get a job at Wall Street now?

That's what happens when you hang out with the wrong people, that was probably his motive to ruin you. Rich people have no friends, and the "friends" they have they treat them like they are replaceable. I mean how "fun" it is to uproot a parking meter.

Were you actually convicted of a crime? If not talk to a lawyer and see if you have any recourse. If you were still talk to one to see if they will let you get your record expunged. Whatever you do don't try to lie about it as it will bite you in the *** big time.

You can say when you were younger you did something very foolish with a couple of friends and wish you had not done anything like it now but that you've grown up a lot since then. Many employers will be willing to overlook it if you don't try to lie as it shows integrity and maturity. Good luck.
