How can I stop a family member using the Internet to send offencive mail he is also violent.?

A member of my family sends very offencive mail that stops reletives from visiting his mother.
She has not seen her grandchildren for months as a result.
In the past he has used violence against his (and my) brother. Now Brother has moved out and I have moved in I am being given threats (from a third party by text as he knows using violence against me will involve the police straight away).
He is now affecting everyday life for mum and me, and all other close releletives.
Mum is 80 in september and does not need all this.
Obviously the law is on our side, but can I involve the police rather than a soliciter in an effort to stop it getting worse? What I need is the quickest way possible to stop this going any further.

I believe the UK is similar to the US and has agencies on aging. Contact them for help.

Your mother needs to kick him out and everyone needs to block his email address. Get together with the other relatives and you can all gather at mom's and confront him, telling him he has to get out and come with a truck to put his stuff on. Then change the locks.

If he is a minor, the police can remove him from the home for being dangerous. If he does attack you in any way, call the police. Likewise if he attacks mom.
