How can Muslim women ignore how Muslim men treat Muslim women?

-Tabari IX:113: "Allah permits you to shut them (women) in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing. Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Quran."
-The UN’s GEM (Gender Empowerment Measure) ranks nations by women’s equality. Muslim nations rank at the bottom.

-2/08 United Nations Report (un.org/en/women/endviolence): Mainly in Muslims nations, over 130 million girls and women alive today have undergone FGM (Female Genital Mutilation); each year 2 million girls are subjected to FMG.
-United Nations Report, 2002: "The report of the Special Rapporteur concerning cultural practices in the family that are violent towards women (E/CN.4/2002/83), indicated that honour killings had been reported in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, the Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey, Yemen, and other Mediterranean and Persian Gulf countries, and that they had also taken place in western countries such as France, Germany and the United Kingdom, within migrant communities."

-12/5/10 LA Times: A new Pew Research Center poll shows that majorities in Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan and Nigeria would favor changing the current laws to allow stoning as a punishment for adultery, hand amputation for theft and death for those who convert from Islam to another religion.
-12/3/11 APF, London: Muslim honor crimes increased 47% compared to 2009. The attacks included murder, mutilation, beatings, abduction and acid attacks.

-The utilization of Arab women’s capabilities through political and economic participation remains the lowest in the world
-About 65 million adult Arabs are illiterate, two thirds of them women
-Illiteracy rates are much higher than in much poorer countries
-The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) includes GEM (gender empowerment measurement) which reveals that women suffer “a glaring deficit” in women’s empowerment. Among regions of the world the Arab region ranks next to last as measured by GEM
-The number of illiterate people is still increasing, to the extent that Arab countries embark upon the twenty-first century burdened by over 60 million illiterate adults, the majority of whom are women
-Other, more cultural behaviours common in the Arab world can also have an adverse health impact. These include intermarriage between close relatives, promotion of early marriage, and female circumcision
-High maternal mortality (death during child birth) is a key health challenge facing most Arab countries.

My father is a Muslim man (a revert) and my non-Muslim friends were shocked at how sweet and caring he is. He did things for them that even their own fathers wouldn't do. I'm always told of how lucky I am to come from such a family and have such a wonderful father. My brother was taught by my parents to be a gentleman and is very respectful towards women and girls.

There are abusive non-Muslim men just as there are abusive Muslim men. Did you know that in Western countries that in murder cases involving a woman, the killer is most likely to be a jealous husband or lover?

MY OWN MUSLIM family are an example of this ...lots of my uncles and cousins didn't treat their wives with respect they treated them like DIRT....so the reality is yeh why do muslim women AND men ignore how muslim women are treated???WHY DONT ANYONE ACTUALLY FOLLOW THE RELIGION PROPERLY.......who actually follow it properly???
let me answer THIS FOR YOU IF YOU STILL DONT KNOW....propbably like 10% of the muslims....so its nothing to do with the religion its to do with the PEOPLE NOT FOLLOWING ISLAM PROPERLY.......
