Me and my girlfriend recently had a son, and we decided to hyphenate his last name until/if we get married. We haven't decided anything yet but how things are going marriage is the future for sure. So we were wondering how we go about changing his last name when the time comes? And how do you change his birth certificate and ss card? We live in Nebraska if laws vary amongst states.

i tried look online, but all I get are birth moms trying to get the father's name off of the baby's records.
