My sophomore best friend (girl) is telling me how she wants to be a lawyer because criminal shows interest her and she thinks it would be fun. I don't know how to tell her that being a lawyer isn't going to work for her. For one: she gets good grades, but she is in lower than standard classes (or slower classes-not normal ones), she also hates reading, and I dont think she understands that becoming a lawyer isn't at all as cool as law shows, and that it involves a TON of work. I don't think she is thinking realistically at all. It's like when they ask you in 2nd grade what you want to be and you say an astronaut or a doctor, before even knowing how hard it actually is or what you're getting yourself into. She is blindly considering this, and i don't know how to break it to her that she might need to consider other career options. Any ideas?
