How much money would i get for a personal Injury claim after being In a Motorbike Crash that wasn't my Fault?

Postby regenweald » Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:01 am

I was riding along a road at 30mph and all of a sudden a car pulled out of a side road in-frontt of me, another car on the other side of the road flashed the driver to pull out and he didn't look at me and pulled straight out, i woke up on my back with my helmet badly damaged and i had thrown up in my helmet too, my whole bike was written off and so was his car, the police was involved and i was taken away in anambulancee after passing out again. I had no broken bones and was very lucky but ever since then i have not been able to carry heavy objects or runproperlyy, i can no longer play football for my team and had to leave my team, i also cannot train at the gym again. I missed a week of work and college, im getting treatment for my whiplash and back and hip pain, i also ever since the crash suffer from nightmares and sometimes eveninsomniaa, its put stress on my family life having no transport to college and work, has anybody had a personal injury claims who could tell me what to expect?

Hi I'm not sure how much you would get but I would say you have a strong case and it's very likely you will be able to get some compensation. I would advise you contact this http://accidentclaimscompensation.org.uk/ They will be able to advise you on how much money you could realistically get and then help you make your claim, and best of all they are no win no fee so you won't have to pay any costs in the unlikely event you can't claim compensation.

Hope I could be of some help :D

Cannot tell you how much as there is a scale of injuries. This is the Q you sould put to your Insurers Solicitors I had a motorbike injury and was paid for my injury, loss of motorbike, clothes damaged and future loss of earnings.
There is no set fee. Beware, mine took 2 years before I received the pay out.

I am going to tell you some things you wont want to hear.

Suffering from nightmares or insomnia is common after an accident. Stress on your family to transport to college and work, not considered, since they paid for your motorcycle, so should buy another MC or better yet a car which is safer. The inability not to play football or train at the gym sucks, but if you heal, then can someday go back, unless they determine that your injuries are permanent, and most likely they are not. Unless you had a signed contract to play football professionally after college and lose it due to this accident, would only be considered then.

Sounds like you got an concussion from this accident due to passing out and throwing up. You also had whiplash which would be for you neck/back, plus some hip pain.

After you are done treating, they will get all of your medical reports from the ER and from every doctor that treats you. Based on the reports of the doctors if your injury is permanent or healed will be their basis of what they will offer. You should get reimbursed for your 1 week of wages you lost, so will need your employer to provide that.

What it comes down to, is not personal things like insomnia, nightmares and inconvenience that happens from this accident, but what your injuries were, is how they will calculate what your injury is worth. What one company may pay vs an other could be yards apart, and most likely even though it appears to be the same injuries, there could be other factors involved.

good luck
