How to cancel the wedding after the Engagement in India?

Hi

I have got engaged a month before but I don't like the girl and there are some compatibility issues in between both of us ( I mean her likes and dislikes are completely different when compared to mine and the way i think is completely different than the way she thinks). So i decided to cancel the marriage now. I am not talking to her. hardly I spoke to her 4-5 times after the engagement. I didn't tell her anything that I don't like her and all. Even her parents doesn't know about this. I have conveyed this to my parents. But my parents are getting panic by the consequences. They are scared about the Girls family to convey this information. and Even my parents they don't let me do that even. I am really confused and don't understand what to do??.

My Parents telling like, they can file a case on me saying that I am asking more dowry after the engagement and also they might file case as I cheat them. My father is a government Employee and I am software professional. I am really confused what to do?? Engagement was happened very grandly. around 150+ people were there. Photos & Videos were taken. I thought of telling to hers father directly that i don't like her and don't wanna marry her. What could be the consequences?? What is the possible of files a case against us and As per law, can they file a case on us??

Please suggest me. Your suggestion and help will be appreciated.

Though unpleasant yet you may have the engagement annulled and refuse to go ahead with the marriage and no law may enforce you for marrying that girl or any dowry related case can not be filed against you since it relates to situations after marriage and not before that. You may have a detailed discussion with girl's family and be bold and strong to face their anger. Breaking of engagements brings bad names to both boy and girl equally so if you have made up your mind then go ahead and break it before its too late. The girls family, in order to seek a better future for their daughter WOULD NOT dare to go public with any wrong allegations as it would jeopardize their own chances of finding another suitable guy for their daughter. So don't be afraid and if still some doubt exists in your mind then you may consult a lawyer in your area and obtain bail though I still feel it would not be necessary as the girls parents would definitely be more worried about their daughter's and their own reputation then anything else.

u take help from bichola(mediocre), and u need to be just patience when her parents and she abused u. and return them the money they spent on engagement and any gifts they gave to u and your family.. that's it. but one advise try to understand her, and love her, in India 90 percent marriage done with this method..

Inform this to her parents thru your friend or thru a detailed letter.
It's better having divorce after the marriage.
