I'm turning 18 in October, I'm a high school student, I have had my full license for only a month or so, it's not my car - it's my parents but I use it sometimes, it's insured and registered and the WOF is up to date, I live in Christchurch New Zealand, and i was doing 66 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. The police officer breath tested me, asked a couple of questions and so on, and told me I would receive a ticket in the mail. Why did she not tell me how much it would be? And why did she not give it to me right then? How much will the ticket be? :/

Yeah they mail it out these days. Sometimes they tell you the cost, sometimes they dont, if you want to know you ask. When you recieve the ticket it will indicate the speed range with which you went over, which will correspond to i.e 5-10km over = x amount of dollars.
