He didn't have current card in car. He could only give the policy paperwork, which had current insurance information. He still got a ticket for driving without insurance. Last night, an officer ran his plates and we s discovered our plates were suspended. He got a ticket for failure to turn in suspended or revoked plates. Never had any notification re: suspension of plates. We have 1 car only. How can we get this manner resolved. Is this the reason plates were suspended? (My husbands ticket for speeding and no proof of license; even though we had current insurance. Also last year I hit the driver in front of me in bumper to bumper traffic. He's going through the state for 900.00 property damage. I have not worked in about a year due to illness and my husband is on Medicare. We are on food stamps. Could this be the reason for plate suspension?

Clearly your plates were suspended because you failed to show that you actually had insurance. In most states, after being pulled over and failing to show a current insurance card, you have 1 week to show you have insurance or your plates will be suspended.

It would seem that you'd be far better off taking the bus. What you are doing is irresponsible and illegal. You are placing other citizens at great risk. You seem to have an excuse for why you are special, get real and grow up.

The way to resolve this is to pay off the tickets and fines, and if you can't afford insurance, then park the car and turn in the plates. The officer who stopped your husband did him a favor if he didn't impound the car on the spot. I'm guessing the cops weren't called when you rear-ended the car in front of you, which is one more bit of good fortune, since you obviously didn't have insurance then either.
