Speed limits are just that, LIMITS not TARGETS! They are there for a reason.

If you have to go to court, apologise, take any punishment handed out and admit you were wrong.

Make a note of all details that you can remember.
Fight it. It may be dropped without a court date or you may have to go to court.
If you must go to court delay the date as long as possible - ideally to summer. Many cops take vacation. No cop - ticket dismissed.
Also as time goes by the memories of the cop may fade. If you can show the judge that you have a good recollection but the cop doesn't, ticket gets dismissed. Worst case you pay a reduced penalty and may avoid insurance premium increases which will greatly exceed the ticket amount over the next 5 years.

Call the number on back of ticket and see if it is waverable. If yes send them a check
