I perform different genres of music but put my focus on pop-country. My songs are unique, it's just my look that gets in the way. People often compare me to Taylor Swift because I have long, blonde curly hair, I do my makeup very similar to hers, and I have similar facial features. If I do become more well-known I don't want to be accused of being a copycat or wannabe. What should I do to change my look? I won't cut my hair, but should i dye it a different color? As far as personal style goes, I have a different fashion taste than she does for the most part so that isn't much of a problem. It's mainly just the hair, ridiculous as that sounds. Suggestions? I want to create a very trademark look for myself.

The important thing to remember about Trademarks is that they are designed to stop people from piggybacking off of the success of established entities by copying their symbol/logo (look). The law reasons that it would be unfair for you to benefit from Taylor Swift's success by adopting her shtick to closely so people will mistake you for her. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with having long blond hair and pretty makeup. Make sure you are unique. Here is a great resource that goes into this in greater detail.
