I need some Novel ideas?

I am looking to write a novel for my creative writing class and i know "its not your novel if you didnt come up with the idea" i understand. I need to come up with one for credit and i want to write about historical fiction, syfy (not to nerdy) fantasy or just action fiction. please respond quick

use world war-2 and put something that is robotic in it- seen terminator lately? there. you have a historical and a sci-fi one ready

^ I actually have an idea but it's not Sci-Fi. It's a love story.

But at that time, we already have advanced weapons that we use against the enemy country.

You have to write an entire novel?! That's a little excessive...

Anyway, I give you some basic ideas, but you have to come up with the details:

Biography (or a fictional person)
Dystopian future
Horror
World War III
Zombie apocalypse

What particular historical period are you interested in? You could play with a 1920's American "Gangster" novel. Take inspiration from The Godfather, you know? You can fit a lot of action in there too..mafia warfare, family feuds, maybe a detective is trying to find evidence against a gang but he ends up falling in love with the leader's daughter. Wikipedia has some great sections on "decades" if you go with the historical fiction idea, so you can make a really strong setting with a little research of what was happening at the time.
