I plan on writing a book series, should I trademark or copyright the series name?

If I write a book series, should I copyright the series title? Or would that be a trademark I should apply for?

For example, if my series were about.. idk the history of the paper industry in countries all over the world....

If my first book were called "The Pages of American History"...or something... and then my second book was called "The Pages of Peruvian History"... and so on and so on with that same series theme... should I / can I legally, trademark/copyright that title?

Thank you so much for your help!

Trade mark
Copyright doesn't cover specific words, titles, or brands.

See you're not talking about a book which you've written, you're talking about the brand name you intend to sell them under. "For Dummies" is a brand, written by hundreds of authors.

Copyright doesn't protect titles of books (or the titles of anything else).

You could apply for a trademark, but until the series is selling hundreds of thousands of copies per year (many more than most series sell over the entire time they're in print), it's not worth the time or expense.
