If you go to court for a speeding ticket, will your ability to attend traffic school be revoked?

I've heard so many stories about this. I don't intend on fighting the charges since I really was speeding. However, I know that there have been many instances where the officer doesn't show up, and your case is dropped.

If I go to court, just to go and see what happens, and the officer is there, does that mean I won't be able to attend traffic school?

Stories of officers not showing up are exaggerated. You should plan on him being there. If he does show and you don't have a defense, the judge isn't going ot appreciate you wasting his time.

The laws pertaining to traffic school vary by state. You should call and ask the court clerk if you will still have that option.
