Is a solicitor required by British law to check the U.S bankruptcy court ?

Is a solicitor in the UK required by British law to check the bankruptcy court of the US to see if that person ( beneficiary that resides in the US ) is currently in bankruptcy, before he distributes money from the estate ?

All reasonable care - in the absence of central registers no solicitor is going to spend a fortune checking with the legal system of every country in the world. So no.
