Is it illegal for me to make a website about someone? Is it illegal to tell them that I am?

My mother got divorced last year and her ex keeps taking her back to court (most recently she received papers from him because she didn't have his name removed from their mortgage--something Chase Bank refused to do even though it was written into their original divorce papers). This is the third time he's taking her back to court, he's bitter that his gravy train came to an end. Is it illegal for me to make a website exposing dirty secrets about him if I don't make money off the site? I'm not asking if it's the RIGHT thing to do, I know it isn't the most moral of actions but at this point I just want him to leave her alone. My mother is very passive and not good at standing up for herself, mostly because she is very sick and despises conflict as the stress causes problems with her autoimmune diseases. So I'm going to stand up for her.

I need to know if it's illegal to make a website telling what a terrible person he is. I know things he would hate to get out. Can I post his dirty secrets online? Furthermore, can I tell him that if he doesn't back off I will expose those secrets? We live in Mississippi, so any advice as to MS law would be appreciated.
