Is not having running water in my rented property against any sort of laws in the UK?

I rent a property off a private landlord and for about 24 hours now there has been a major leak on our water heater, so bad that it's soaked through the floor and is coming up through the floor in patches all over my flat. The maintenance team came out at about 8pm tonight as an emergency call out and to stop the leak and all they did was turn off the water supply. This means I am left without water. I can't even flush my toilet. I have a 6 month old and i'm really struggling to keep his bottles clean and make up his bottles with no water.

Is this against any sort of laws? Does anyone know where I stand?

Thanks

Your landlord must take all resonable steps to ensure that you have running water. It's under health codes.
