alright so i just got home from meps a couple hours ago and i am super pumped as ****! Going through all that annoying waiting and stuff was worth it when i swore in that felt awesome. Im young with no kids or law violations and a good asvab score i feel like the whole world is at my feet. i figured i would go to sleep when i got home after like 4 hours of sleep but no im so excited i feel like i wont be able to sleep for days i just dont know what to do with myself right now. do people normally feel like this after joining? my problem is choosing a mos. they all sound awesome and interesting. i dont ship to bootcamp until september and idk when i have to choose my mos but every job there is i think sounds cool and each one could be the best for me in a different way. iv talked to my recruiter about jobs iv done tons of research online and i just dont know how to choose. what can i do? how did you guys pick yours?

It all depends on what YOU want to do. I'm an avionics technician in the Marine Corps. Most military jobs have some sort of a civilian counterpart. Also, edit your question an let us know what branch you swore in for.

Congratulations and welcome. You are now part of something bigger than all of us. For now just relax and try to rest. Your recruiter will be by to talk to you in a day or two and tell you what to expect until your ship date.
Remember how you feel right now, remember that image you have in your mind of yourself once you are in uniform. Store that image in your brain forever and every single day you wake up, get dressed and square yourself away, look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are living up to that expectation you had for yourself.
