Lab question on muscle function and neuromuscular reflex!?

Postby taillefer » Fri Mar 23, 2012 1:01 am

I'm doing this lab in anatomy and there are a few few questions that I can't find the answers to anywhere!

1 what is the proper hand position for a piano player to prevent neuromuscular damage?
2. Many people rest their wrists on the table as they keyboard or type. Would this prevent injury to the extensor muscles or the forearm?
3. What action or motion do the muscles that attach to the medial epicondyle control? In order to test these muscles, how would you adapt this experiment?
4. Assume that there Ae nerve fibers that travel from the brain to the motor neurons in the spinal cord involved in the patellar reflex arc. Some of these nerve tracts stimulate the spinal neurons while others inhibit the same neuron. Hypothesize on the mechanism T would result in the mV differences observed between the reflexes with and without reinforcement.

I don't expect anyone to answer all of these questions but I'm really stuck on them and any information on anyof them would be extremely helpful! Thanks so much in advance!

for any keyboard the proper hand position is that the arm is level and slightly above the keys so that the fingers are not I mean so that the wrist is not bent the fingers dangle downward.

no matter the position no activity should be done repetitively in that same exact position
