Legal matter: How can i have issued a warrant because of illegal parking when i didn't have a car, neither DL?

Postby webb » Sun Jul 01, 2012 9:01 am

I got pulled over by a cop yesterday, got a speeding ticket for $50.00, not big deal. Although I got to find out thanks to the officer, that there was a warrant for me from almost a yr ago, back in 07/2011 for $390.00 to be paid in cash, due to illegal parking. The weird part is I did not have a vehicle in 2011, neither had driver license last year, and I was never aware of this situation. I even went 2 months ago to the police station to get a print out of my records, and there was no records of it. How is this possible? and How can handle this weird issue? Please advice. Thx in advance.

Call the Clerk of the Court for whatever county/city issued the warrant and explain your situation. They'll tell you how to sort it out.

It's likely that someone just goofed inputting the info for the parking ticket.

Sounds like maybe the cop made a mistake? Put a # in the computer wrong? Also this could be a case of stolen identity. I would talk to an attorney.

Your license can be tracked to when it was issued. And your records for a vehicle registration can also be tracked. Go see the Clerk of the court. Here's hoping you've saved the print out of your records from two months ago. Something's amiss and all you should have to do is explain like you did here, and they'll scratch their heads and check records.
