They are generally not interested in any outside ideas for a couple of reasons. First, you would want them to sign a non-disclosure agreement on something they may already be doing internally. They do not want to allow their engineers or management to even KNOW about your idea, because you could later claim they "stole it from you."
However, there may be some avenues into any such industry whereby they become "aware" of it, such as when your utility patent application is published, and they contact YOU for discussions on a license or purchase of your invention and rights to it.
