A federal judge has denied bond for two Brownsville men accused of smuggling four children at Boca Chica Beach.
U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested 37-year-old Ector Chavez and 36-year-old Israel Lucio, Jr. last Tuesday.
Court records revealed that Chavez drove through a Border Patrol checkpoint on Highway 4 with four children.
Chavez claimed two of the children were his and the other two belonged to his sister-in-law.
But authorities learned all four of them were illegal immigrants who had been crossed from Mexico at Boca Chica Beach.
Border Patrol agents arrested Lucio after learning he smuggled the children across the Rio Grande River.
Both men appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald Morgan on Tuesday afternoon where they were both denied bond.

didnt obama order border agents not to separate families, we soon have major lawsuit by la raza and the obama ?Obama was asked by Univision's Maria Elena Salinas: "Some of these mothers are actually losing the custody of their children because of deportations. As a mother yourself, what do you say to them?"
To which she responded: "There is nothing more critical than keeping families together and that is why Barack has been fighting so hard for comprehensive immigration reform. For the sheer fact that we cannot continue to let families be broken apart.""There is so much more work to do, we all know that. We have to have comprehensive reform that's why the second term is so critical. This is going to be one of my husband's top priorities and it’s essential," the first lady continued.
