Since your from out of state really nothing is important. You live in IL so you don't have points like in Wosconsin. The ticket is probably a 4pts citation? But that means nothing to you. Only thing is pay ticket on or before court date. If you wish to contest it, then going to court is quick and can lead to fine reduced. Since your from out of state it would be only thing effected is maybe insurance may increase but may not.I am from Illinois and I recieved a speeding ticket in Milwaukee County (Wisconsin) for going 15 mph over. I am suppose to pay a $180 fine if I choose not to go to court, which I have the option of doing since I recieved a court date. This is my first offense on my driving record and I do not know what to expect with an Out of State speeding ticket. I want to go to court, but I am worried about driving an hour and a half out there, just to be found guilty and I'll be left with paying for the ticket, court costs, and gas....What should I do and what do I expect to happen if I ONE: just pay the fine...or TWO: go to court and hope for the best that it gets dropped...
