Please help with my Bus Law question!?

Postby urian27 » Mon May 07, 2012 12:49 am

This class is pretty tough. It is an online course and we were just offered extra credit. I am confused by this...please help me understand if you can. I know how to research the case and get the info, I just dont quite get what the teacher is asking. Thanks!

President Obama, lamenting that "an unelected group of people" could have the power to rule his health care reform unconstitutional, recently made this statement: "I'm confident the Supreme Court will not take...an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law."

What landmark case was the President ignoring when he made this statement? What did that case establish? And why was the President forced to quickly retreat from the position he set out above?

Your response should include your evaluation of the operative 1803 case and your personal reaction as a "student of the law" to the President's statement
