Power cut in a hotel- uk?

hotel stay in england and been left without power for several hours, this means no hot water either. Nor was the room cleaned properly as no vacumn cleaner . Is there any rights for the consumer to get a refund/ partial refund

There is no 'rights' for electricity.

You can ask for a refund due to poor service. They will most likely give you one.

must be a dirty person if one day without a hoovering makes a significant difference to the state of the room.

Just go to the counter and ask to see the manager.

Be firm and be in control. Most managers will shrug you off and think you are nuts.

You better show them some colour or they will just let it be without compensating anything to your loss of well-being in UK.

You know how snobbish some workers can be in UK even though they understand fully customers-first. They just don't bother to be nice.

there is nothing set in stone
ask at reception they may give compensation as an act of goodwill
one possible argument for you is under contract law - failure to provide goods or services
in a hotel hot water may be classed as a service
