The ABS light came on. I pulled into a gas station, Put the van in park took the key out of the ignition, my light stayed on also my windshield wipers was still moving. so I gas up and hope to make it to work. Made it to the parking lot. The same thing happen. So I disconnected the battery POS terminal. Called a tow truck, brought it to Midas. Midas said the Auto theft device is causing this to happen. When I brought the van it was installed at purchase. It's a 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager. I have the box of extra keys that came with the system also there a phone number that doesn't work. wondering if there's a wiring schmatic, because Midas wants to disable it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
ANSWER: Hello,
I don't trust muffler installers to diagnose anything electrical. It was all to common when working at the dealer, no matter what was wrong, a knock in the engine, transmission shifting, my guys would always blame it on the alarm.
You need to tell me the model of the alarm. Normally, the alarm is not installed into the anti-lock system or the wipers. Usually, the dome, the parking lights, the starter circuit, the locks and that is about it.
My suspicion is that once deactivated, you will still have the same problem and then what do the muffler mechanics blame.
A buddy of mine installed an alarm sticker on the glass-no alarm. About three years later the mechanic was blaming the electrical problem on the alarm because he saw the sticker.
If you can give me the name of the unit, I can instruct you as to how to disable it. Write me at [email protected]

The instructions says When the vehicle starts remove the key. I never remove the key. I'm going down to Midas and tell them to hold-up, don't do any further work, until I try these other keys.
