Question about the drug laws in Ohio?

So I live with a pill addicted mother. She had fioricet prescribed to her once years back. She even has a charge for trying to fill someone else's script when I was a child. Well, she claim's since she had them prescribed to her years ago it is okay for her to buy them off the streets. She said she knows this because when she went to a mental home (while high) she had them on her and said she was saving them and holding them so someone didn't steal them (which is a lie.)

I told her that's illogical and buying someone else's drugs period is illegal. I want to know everything I can about this situation and what I can do to prove her wrong?
