I have a contract with John in which he is suppose to deliver an apple to me but he failed to do so. Because of this, i have to take a bus to the supermarket and buy an apple which costs me $1.30
Assuming the apple which he is gonna deliver to me costs $1 and that i haven't pay him yet.
In terms of common law remedy, i'll be able to claim $0.30. right?
And let's say if i paid him the $1 already, this means that i'll be able to claim back $1.30 . Right?
Lastly, can i also claim my traveling expenses to the supermarket? Which aspects of remedies do we need to look at to see if this is a valid claim (e.g. remoteness, mitigation, assessment)?
