School Psychological Exam? Help please?

Postby chika » Fri Oct 28, 2011 5:12 pm

I was bothered by this kid in my school, and after being accused of "assault" by hitting hitting the kid with a (plastic) wiffleball, (NJ has a new law, called Harassment, Intimidation, And Bullying Prevention [HIB] and there is a school investigation for every allegation of bullying.) I flipped out. Like I snapped at my VP completely. I told him he was a dumb m/f, etc, and after so, proceeded to act like a non-cannibalistic Hannibal Lecter for my own entertainment(my dad and I Lol'd so hard at that). Now, after a convening of the VPs, they decided to set me up for an appointment with the school's "doctor". I know that this basically means that there will be a drug test included, as well as a meeting with a shrink. Now, I'm not crazy. However, if I act like myself, based on the psychology that I act always like I did in front of my VP, and then I'm calm and composed for the shrink, wouldn't that provoke them to think that I was a liar? I can convey body language and myself very well until I get angry, and I doubt that will be happening, so how should I act in order to avoid going to Crazy Hills Asylum for a few months?

PS: I don't consider psychologists to be the most, eh, specialized of doctors, seeing as I know quite a bit of psychology after a few weeks study, (No offense psychologists) But I'd really enjoy some input from people who have given these exams, or from other idiots like me who were forced to take them. Preferably people who weren't put on 100 MG of xannys or locked away for 3+ months.

School Psychological Exam? Help please?

First of all I am going to assume you are a high school senior or junior seeing how your school has a VP, in saying there is a lot more training psychologists have to go through and learn than that taught in a few weeks of study such as the ability to recognize when people are being deceitful. Psychologists have rules of ethics and one of them is to not be biased, the psychologist in your school will have to see you on more than 1 occasion in order to determine if you have any sort of problem that needs attention. Be yourself and explain to the psychologist what was going through your mind at the time and why you had "freaked out" at the VP.

You are your own best judge. Use your discrimination powers wisely.

Or pl. select a reliable and wise mentor and strictly listen to his good words of advice scrupulously, if you genuinely want to avoid going to Crazy Hills Asylum.
