our family consist of 4 members ( My father, mother and my younger sister), me got married and stays with husband. what is my share in my fathers property after my marriage. my father alive and he is more supportive towards my younger sister and in my marriage he has not gifted anything to me and my husband. he has owned only 2houses,some Fixed deposit, bank balance and jewellery.

1) Do i have any rights to get my share in my fathers property when my father still alive?

2) Do i have any rights to get my share in my fathers property, when my father writes entire property to my younger sister name in his will?

Dear Buddy,

As long as the property is self acquired by your Dad, he has the right to decide as to how share the property.

If it is inherited, you have full liberty for having the proportionate share.

You have no claim when he is alive. If he dies and leaves all to your younger sister then you can make a claim against his estate. You probably can get 25% of the estate after his death.
