Speeding ticket be on my record? Arizona?

Postby hampton83 » Thu Mar 08, 2012 11:01 am

In December I received a CRIMINAL speeding ticket on the I-10 in Arizona for exceeding 85 mph. I fought the ticket and the prosecutor offered be a plea bargin to reduce the ticket to a CIVIL charge.

Now, I know civil tickets are not misdemeanors like criminal tickets and do not end up on your record, but since mine was originally a criminal offense will it show up on background checks? Or perhaps a ticket that originally was criminal and it shows that it was dropped to civil? Or is it just gone?

Thanks!

Yes. IT would eventually appear on your records considering that it was a criminal offense which violates traffic laws. You better hire a lawyer and expunge the record. That's the only way I know.

Yes, it will show up on your record permanently unless you have it expunged.
